In this video, Martin Aketch, an extension officer from Nairobi, shares his observations regarding weather pattern changes over the last three-four years in Kenya, East Africa. In 2019 the long rain season delayed all the way to May. Colder season from June through August was warmer than usual. The short rain season started earlier, around August, and continued all the way to February 2020 when the long rain season was supposed to start. Unstructured weather patterns affected farming and the daily lives of local residents. Many people were displaced from their normal place of residence due to flooding.

Participants of AllatRa International Public Movement continue to interview climate change eyewitnesses all over the world. If you become an eyewitness of a natural disaster and would like to share it with everybody, please email us at [email protected]
