Global Crisis. The Responsibility | International Online Forum. December 2, 2023

Today, very serious changes are taking place with the climate, and we are not ready for that. We are not ready to admit as parents that our child has no future. We can influence simple things: a child's education, how he is dressed, what he eats, and we do this. However, at least so far, we can also influence whether he will have a future or not. And that's when all our responsibility as parents disappears. We cease to be fathers and mothers, and we become just indifferent people because we reject and do not want to admit that climatic changes already pose a real threat.

A good parent is the one who really cares about the future of their child. Not in the sense of who the child will grow up to be, but in the sense that he will have such an opportunity. If we were truly caring parents, we would not be afraid and would take on this responsibility. And we would do everything to save the life of our child.

How could it happen that we, society as a whole, have come to the point when every person individually seems to be very caring, good and positive, while in general, as a society, we are indifferent to others and turn away from this reality?

The slaves of consciousness are oppressed and immobilized, but if we, as Personalities, are free, we see prospects and opportunities. How are we already changing the format of society from the consumer-oriented  to the creative one? Why are a lot of people actively joining us now? 
What is the difference between actions and deeds of an egoist and of a free Personality? How can a true hero be distinguished? What does altruism save a person from? How can this phenomenon be explained in terms of medicine and anatomy?

Selfishness or Altruism? What is the Value of Altruism?

Hiroo Saionji is a Co-Founder and President of the Goi Peace Foundation, President of May Peace Prevail on Earth International. He is the great-grandson of Prince Kinmochi Saionji, who was twice Prime Minister of Japan during the Meiji Period.

Hiroo received the Social Education Distinguished Service Award from the Ministry of Education, sports, Science and Technology of Japan.
He is the President of the Goi Peace Foundation which maintains a Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations, and official relations with UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization). 

Hiroo Saionji is also the Honorary Advisor to Ritsumeikan Saionji Juku (School for global leadership), is an Ambassador to the World Wisdom Council and is active in its activities. He was a principal founder of The New Civilization initiative with thirteen partner organizations, including Kosmos Journal, in November 2005.
In 2007, he was awarded the Cultural Prize of the Dr. Lin Tsung-I Foundation of Taiwan, the Philosopher Saint Shree Dnyaneshwara World Peace Prize of India in 2008 and the Luxembourg Peace Prize in 2019.
