ℹ️ Earthquake M 5.6 in Turkey
On April 18, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 occurred in Turkey. The epicenter was in the Sulusaray district of Tokat province, approximately 280 miles east of the capital, Ankara.
It was determined that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 5.99 kilometers. Tremors were felt in other provinces as well: Nevşehir, Sivas, Samsun, Erzurum, Çorum, and Amasya.

ℹ️ Powerful Storm in Vietnam
From April 19 to 20, powerful storms with thunder, hail, and heavy rains struck northern Vietnam. In the capital city, Hanoi, there were prolonged thunderstorms, and in some places, tornadoes and hail, causing significant damage to property.

ℹ️ Massive Flooding in China
Since Friday, April 19, Guangdong Province in China continues to suffer from heavy rains.
In Shaoguan County, by April 21, an astounding amount of rainfall—23 inches— had fallen, significantly exceeding the record of 16.4 inches set the previous year.

On April 23, in Hualien County on the east coast of Taiwan, two powerful earthquakes with magnitudes of 6 and above occurred within just 6 minutes.
The first earthquake with a magnitude of 6.0 was recorded at 2:26 am. The epicenter was off the coast of Hualien County in the Pacific Ocean, with a depth of 6.21 miles.

ℹ️ Sudden Flooding in Kenya
Kenya experienced a powerful sudden flood, affecting nearly half of the country's territory. At least 38 deaths have been reported, with around 103,500 people affected.

ℹ️ Sandstorm in Greece
On April 23, the sky above Athens and other Greek cities turned into an apocalyptic reddish-orange color.

ℹ️ Anomalous Flooding in Kazakhstan
Anomalous spring floods in Kazakhstan continue. A state of emergency has been declared in 10 out of 17 regions of the country.

Participants of the Creative Society project attended Disasters EXPO USA in Miami, Florida. They had an opportunity to speak with Alex Storr, Chairman of the Disaster Recovery Authority based in the Bahamas. As a part of the delegation from the Bahamas, he attended the EXPO to find new technologies that can help in disaster mitigation and recovery.

In this interview, Alex Storr shared how devastating Hurricane Dorian was, and noted that he and his colleagues are seeing signs of a so-called superstorm. He put a strong emphasis on the fact that no matter what awaits us, we must be prepared for it.

Alex Storr believes that we need to get the message of climate change across. In his opinion, we should be persistent and we should not lose our vigilance as our world will change in the coming years. He also emphasized the importance of bringing all people together to solve the climate problem. Every small action is important: sharing information, resources, experience, etc.

New York Times bestselling author, international speaker, and activist John Perkins joins us live at the International Forum “Global Crisis. We Are People. We Want to Live” where he shared candidly about the practices that prevail in the world of powers that be.

"Debt became the real driving force. And this is when I stepped into this scene as an economic hitman. My real title was chief economist. You know, my job was really to identify countries that had resources our corporations want, like oil and many other resources. Today it’s a lot around lithium and cobalt and high-tech industry minerals. 

But anyway, we identify such a country and arrange a huge loan in that country from the World Bank or one of its sister organizations. But the money didn't actually go to the country, it went to our own corporations, and the infrastructure projects in that country. And these were projects like industrial parks and electrical systems, highways and ports and airports and so on.

Big infrastructure projects that made huge profits for our own corporations, first of all, and also helped a few wealthy families in these countries.  

But the majority of the people suffered actually because money was diverted from health, education and other social services to pay off the debt on these loans. 

And in the end, the country couldn't pay off the loans usually. And so we go back into the IMF and arrange to refinance, but that always meant that the country had to sell its resources real cheap to our corporations without environmental or social restrictions; maybe vote with us at the United Nations, allow us to build a military base on their soil. And so that was the way that we really enslave these countries with debt. 

And at that point, we often create tremendous damage to local environments and to local systems. So people in areas that are being drilled for oil or mined or where pipelines run through are terribly damaged by this. And ultimately the entire country is damaged.

This is a global economic system that consumes itself into extinction. It's a very destructive system. In short, it's based on the goal of maximizing short-term profits regardless of the social and environmental costs.”

"Debt became the real driving force. And this is when I stepped into this scene as an economic hitman. My real title was chief economist. You know, my job was really to identify countries that had resources our corporations want, like oil and many other resources. Today it’s a lot around lithium and cobalt and high-tech industry minerals. 
 
But anyway, we identify such a country and arrange a huge loan in that country from the World Bank or one of its sister organizations. But the money didn't actually go to the country, it went to our own corporations, and the infrastructure projects in that country. And these were projects like industrial parks and electrical systems, highways and ports and airports and so on. 
 
Big infrastructure projects that made huge profits for our own corporations, first of all, and also helped a few wealthy families in these countries. 
 
But the majority of the people suffered actually because money was diverted from health, education and other social services to pay off the debt on these loans. 
 
And in the end, the country couldn't pay off the loans usually. And so we go back into the IMF and arrange to refinance, but that always meant that the country had to sell its resources real cheap to our corporations without environmental or social restrictions; maybe vote with us at the United Nations, allow us to build a military base on their soil. And so that was the way that we really enslave these countries with debt. 
 
And at that point, we often create tremendous damage to local environments and to local systems. So people in areas that are being drilled for oil or mined or where pipelines run through are terribly damaged by this. And ultimately the entire country is damaged. 
 
This is a global economic system that consumes itself into extinction. It's a very destructive system. In short, it's based on the goal of maximizing short-term profits regardless of the social and environmental costs.” 
 
Dr. Ichak Kalderon Adizes, Doctor of Philosophy, international speaker and author of books says: “The system has taken over and we are all its victims. What we need to do is change the system."
