Climate is changing and it’s our nowadays reality. We experience more temperature anomalies and last year was the hottest in 125,000 years. 2024 breaks the records of the previous year. The ocean is warming at an enormous speed. Climate disasters have increased all over the world.

What can each person do to improve the situation? I already paid my carbon emissions taxes but what else can I do to help other people and contribute to saving lives?

Organized by the Creative Society project together with the International Association of Youth and Students for Peace

Ways to Resolve Climate Crisis. Presentation of Creative Society Organized With IAYSP Austria

The past week has shown how serious the problem of heavy rainfalls has become. Countries on different continents simultaneously suffered from abnormal floods.

➡️ Strong Storms in Europe
On May 2, several countries in Europe were hit by storms with thunderstorms and heavy rains.
In Germany, storms caused significant damage to some parts of the federal state of Baden-Württemberg. After a strong thunderstorm, the Klingbach River overflowed, flooding several settlements.
The Netherlands also suffered from the storms that day. Strong thunderstorms with downpours passed over the province of Limburg. The cities of Venlo and Heerlen were particularly affected. 

➡️ Record Flooding in China
On May 4, heavy rains poured down on several cities in Guangdong province in southern China, including Zhongshan and Zhuhai. The province issued 58 flood warnings, five of which were red, indicating the most serious level of warning.

➡️ Catastrophic Floods in Kenya
Since March, rains have not stopped in Kenya, causing massive floods and landslides. Floods and landslides have claimed 228 lives, with 164 people missing. Unfortunately, there are no signs of the crisis easing, as meteorologists predict such weather will continue into May. 

➡️ Destructive Tornado in the USA
On the evening of May 6, another round of deadly severe weather hit the central part of the USA. The NWS issued over 300 life-threatening weather warnings: lightning, severe hail, and destructive wind gusts. Over 60 tornado warnings were also issued. One of them, the Tornado Emergency Alert, the most severe of all warnings, was issued for Osage County, Oklahoma.

➡️ Unprecedented Flooding in Brazil
The southernmost state of Brazil, Rio Grande do Sul, is experiencing a natural disaster. Anomalous rains and severe floods have already affected 401 out of 497 municipalities. The state government has declared a state of emergency. At least 95 people have fallen victim to the climate tragedy, and over 130 are still missing. The number of flood victims is approaching 1.5 million people, with more than 200,000 left homeless. 

❗ The extreme rise in temperatures and the evaporation of huge volumes of water lead to increased storm activity. As a result, there is an increase in the number of thunderstorms, precipitation, and strong winds. This poses a serious danger and leads to even greater destruction, losses, and loss of human lives.

I actually made a decision a long time ago that communication with money is more important to me. So, when I was invited to the conference to voice the truth for the sake of saving people’s lives, I recalled money and my status and thought that the event wasn’t worth my respect!
I even responded to them in a respectful manner! Sort of, thank you for the invitation, but without a fee, for me, it’s an empty effort. It’s great that you deal with reporting these problems, but this is not what I’m paid for. Arrivederci, end of contact!
Conscience is under lock and key, my family is in a castle on the island, while I’m wearing sandals and a panama hat! Cool! I’ll go bathe in my pool with a marvelous view, drink a cocktail and eat some pineapple!
Where is the noise coming from? What is the fuss all about? “Earth is on fire, the ground is cracking. Save yourselves, friends!” I get up and dress myself leisurely. Of course, I’m upset ‘cause I’ve been lying here in kef!    
Approaching the balcony edge, I keep wondering: what cracks and fires? I’m a climatologist. I make forecasts. I’m an expert in that. Nothing like that was predicted for today.  
I’m on the balcony, looking down. I understand it’s not window dressing or populism, there’s real fire 🔥People really suffer, but how is this possible? There is usually an advance warning. Measures are supposed to be taken, evacuation and so forth, there’s been a protocol for a long time now, and everyone knows that!
A thought hit my body as an electric discharge! I saw this on my devices ‘cause it’s me who informs others! Damn it! Firmness gave way to panic, an avalanche rushed through my head, and suddenly I recalled my family! They are in the forest, already on fire!
I shout from the balcony like a madman, but millions of other people’s screams cover my shout. I got the point and started crying. I never thought it would hit us too!
All the wealth I accumulated so greedily is dust. I’m helpless. The only words I now say is what I forgot a long time ago: “Our Father, I haven’t asked anything from you for years. Save my family! I’ve been blind for so long!” 
Flashback of the past in my head, retrospective film shots from myself to myself! 
I recalled my childhood when I was a little boy. I recalled my parents, my heartbeat and my desire to serve people and bring sunlight into the world!

I would become the one who studies climate and gives people information timely. For I actually saw with my own eyes that technologies which are fashionable today are powerless before natural disasters!  
I slowly come to my senses, recalling who I am. Tears are running down my cheeks like when I was a boy. The same heartbeat and fire in my chest. Thank you, Lord, for letting me get warm!
I raised all my connections and sounded an alarm. This time we made it, I thank only God! The fire is put out, no victims are found. I recalled the letter which I had thrown away!

We kindly invite you to the forum on May 7th, 2022. One of the topics is climate change. What is happening to nature? You are an expert, and we need your opinion. We need only truth from you about climate in order to save billions of people! Only in unity can we find solutions in the current situation because there is already information that it’s only a beginning and climate will get worse! 
I closed the letter and carefully put it aside. I called my family and for the first time in years told them I love them!
I confessed that our entire family success is built on lies and the lives of those who trusted the words I publicly said. I exposed myself, took off the masks, and for the first time in many years I took a breath of relief. I looked into the eyes of my son and said: “My son, I promise to you that in the future you will live, and your life will be happy. You will rejoice in the sun just like in my childhood I did!”
Now I know what I need to do! I will not surrender! For you, my son, and for the sake of all people on earth! I’m no longer afraid to tell the truth because the price of silence is human lives.
And I’m not the only one like that!

I actually made a decision a long time ago that communication with money is more important to me. So, when I was invited to the conference to voice the truth for the sake of saving people’s lives, I recalled money and my status and thought that the event wasn’t worth my respect! 
I even responded to them in a respectful manner! Sort of, thank you for the invitation, but without a fee, for me, it’s an empty effort. It’s great that you deal with reporting these problems, but this is not what I’m paid for. Arrivederci, end of contact! 
Conscience is under lock and key, my family is in a castle on the island, while I’m wearing sandals and a panama hat! Cool! I’ll go bathe in my pool with a marvelous view, drink a cocktail and eat some pineapple! 
Where is the noise coming from? What is the fuss all about? “Earth is on fire, the ground is cracking. Save yourselves, friends!” I get up and dress myself leisurely. Of course, I’m upset ‘cause I’ve been lying here in kef! 
Approaching the balcony edge, I keep wondering: what cracks and fires? I’m a climatologist. I make forecasts. I’m an expert in that. Nothing like that was predicted for today. 
I’m on the balcony, looking down. I understand it’s not window dressing or populism, there’s real fire 🔥People really suffer, but how is this possible? There is usually an advance warning. Measures are supposed to be taken, evacuation and so forth, there’s been a protocol for a long time now, and everyone knows that! 
A thought hit my body as an electric discharge! I saw this on my devices ‘cause it’s me who informs others! Damn it! Firmness gave way to panic, an avalanche rushed through my head, and suddenly I recalled my family! They are in the forest, already on fire!

In October, massive floods occurred in 36 countries around the world: they cascaded, washing away everything in their path, causing irreparable damage. A month or more of rain falls in a day, sometimes even in a matter of hours. 
In October, floods affected people in Brazil, Venezuela, Colombia, Mexico and the United States, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines and Australia, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Oman and Syria, Spain, Italy, Greece, Georgia, India, China and the Russian Federation.

Saving people often depends on people helping each other in a timely and coordinated way. In this episode, a Mexican eyewitness talks about how people interacted during Hurricane Hova.

On October 23, 2021, widespread flooding occurred in the province of West Kalimantan, Indonesia. Due to heavy rain, the Kapuas River overflowed its banks: in some areas the water level reached 2.5 meters. More than 2,500 houses were damaged. More than 8,000 people were affected and about 2,000 people had to be evacuated. 
After heavy rain on October 28, 2021, a landslide occurred in another province of Indonesia - Central Kalimantan. Sadly, there were fatalities at a gold mine. 

On October 28, 2021, large hail and heavy rains struck some parts of South Australia. The hail became a real disaster for the inhabitants of Australia - the fallen ice floes measuring 16 cm became a record for the country. It is also noted that in recent years, not only the size of hailstones have increased, but also the frequency of their fall. The element caused flooding and destruction around the whole state, and the city of Adelaide was affected most of all.

And on October 31, the Bolivian city of Tarija was hit by a powerful storm with hail. The streets of the city were covered with a thick layer of hail up to 1.5 meters high. The hail damaged houses, cars, and destroyed almost all crops. According to the authorities, about 5 thousand tons of ice were transported from the streets.

On October 28, 2021, lingering rains caused flooding in southwest Scotland. In Dumfries and Galloway counties, river levels rose by almost 3 meters, more than 500 homes and two railroad bridges were damaged by floodwaters. Local residents were evacuated to temporary housing centers. 

On October 29, 2021, heavy rains hit the eastern coast of the United States.
This led to localized flooding in Washington, D.C and its surroundings., on the Atlantic coast of Maryland and Virginia. The Potomac River burst its banks. Fortunately, no one was injured.
On the same day in Peru, after heavy rain, there was flash flooding in the city of Jaén in the Cajamarca region. Unfortunately, one human died. A public disaster was declared in the department.

On October 30, in the city of Erbil, Iraq, heavy rains and hail turned into powerful torrents of muddy water that demolished cars, damaged roads, power lines and over 500 homes. 

Heavy downpours began in several parts of Sri Lanka in late October. The rains caused floods and landslides. Unfortunately,  people died. As of November 3, about 6,000 people were affected. 

On November 3, a massive landslide came down in southern Colombia in Nariño, after prolonged heavy rains. Unfortunately, there are dead, injured and missing. Dozens of houses were destroyed. 

On October 29, 2021 stratovolcano Nevado del Ruiz was active in Colombia. A column of gas and ash rose 2,500 meters over the mountaintop.

At the end of October, due to the eruption of an underwater volcano, a huge amount of pumice reached the shores of Okinawa and Kagoshima prefectures in Japan. Pumice stone clogged dozens of ports, damaged up to fifty ships and temporarily suspended transport links between the islands of Okinawa and Kyushu. 

On October 25, a fire broke out in the Austrian Alps near the Rax Massif. The area covered by the fire had grown to 115 hectares in just 10 hours. Emergency services, including specialized aircraft of neighboring Italy, Germany and Slovakia were involved in extinguishing the fire. 

Nothing is more important today than information about how our humanity can survive and save our planet.
