In March 2024, participants of the Creative Society Project attended the Disasters EXPO USA in Florida, Miami. This event showcased many different companies that are involved in disaster management. Bryon Hodges, President of WindTripper Corporation was also present at the Expo. WindTripper Corp. has developed a technology that allows buildings to maintain roofs during hurricanes and strong winds.

During the interview, Bryon Hodges shared his excitement about attending the event. He said that events like this provide a great opportunity to learn about the latest technologies from around the world. 

Mr. Hodges is convinced that a multidisciplinary approach is needed to solve a particular issue. He believes that it is through the unification of people that breakthrough ideas emerge and the most incredible solutions are found.

The issue of uniting scientists from all over the world is especially relevant now, as our planet is entering the 12,000-year cycle of climate catastrophes.

ℹ️ Earthquake M 5.6 in Turkey
On April 18, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 occurred in Turkey. The epicenter was in the Sulusaray district of Tokat province, approximately 280 miles east of the capital, Ankara.
It was determined that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 5.99 kilometers. Tremors were felt in other provinces as well: Nevşehir, Sivas, Samsun, Erzurum, Çorum, and Amasya.

ℹ️ Powerful Storm in Vietnam
From April 19 to 20, powerful storms with thunder, hail, and heavy rains struck northern Vietnam. In the capital city, Hanoi, there were prolonged thunderstorms, and in some places, tornadoes and hail, causing significant damage to property.

ℹ️ Massive Flooding in China
Since Friday, April 19, Guangdong Province in China continues to suffer from heavy rains.
In Shaoguan County, by April 21, an astounding amount of rainfall—23 inches— had fallen, significantly exceeding the record of 16.4 inches set the previous year.

ℹ️ Earthquakes M 6.3 and M 6.0 on Taiwan Island
On April 23, in Hualien County on the east coast of Taiwan, two powerful earthquakes with magnitudes of 6 and above occurred within just 6 minutes.
The first earthquake with a magnitude of 6.0 was recorded at 2:26 am. The epicenter was off the coast of Hualien County in the Pacific Ocean, with a depth of 6.21 miles.

ℹ️ Sudden Flooding in Kenya
Kenya experienced a powerful sudden flood, affecting nearly half of the country's territory. At least 38 deaths have been reported, with around 103,500 people affected.

ℹ️ Sandstorm in Greece
On April 23, the sky above Athens and other Greek cities turned into an apocalyptic reddish-orange color.

ℹ️ Anomalous Flooding in Kazakhstan
Anomalous spring floods in Kazakhstan continue. A state of emergency has been declared in 10 out of 17 regions of the country.

Our society is approaching a period where climate disasters like the flooding in Kazakhstan will occur more frequently.

Participants of the Creative Society project attended Disasters EXPO USA in Miami, Florida. They had an opportunity to speak with Alex Storr, Chairman of the Disaster Recovery Authority based in the Bahamas. As a part of the delegation from the Bahamas, he attended the EXPO to find new technologies that can help in disaster mitigation and recovery.

In this interview, Alex Storr shared how devastating Hurricane Dorian was, and noted that he and his colleagues are seeing signs of a so-called superstorm. He put a strong emphasis on the fact that no matter what awaits us, we must be prepared for it.

Alex Storr believes that we need to get the message of climate change across. In his opinion, we should be persistent and we should not lose our vigilance as our world will change in the coming years. He also emphasized the importance of bringing all people together to solve the climate problem. Every small action is important: sharing information, resources, experience, etc.

💧 Drinking water. Such a basic and essential commodity in our lives… We take it for granted. When we are thirsty, we take a drink. Just turn on the tap or twist off the cap on the PET bottle. We can't even imagine what it would be like if drinking water suddenly wasn't there. After all, without it, a person can survive just 3-4 days.

⛔ And yet, today, nearly a billion people do not have access to drinking water.
More than 2 million people die every year because of water scarcity, especially children under 5.

❓ How can we allow this to happen? Why are we unable to put an end to this problem once and for all?

Despite all the technological alternatives, we are leaving people without water.

It is, after all, about people and their lives. It is within our power to bring drinking water to every person on the planet.

Let us act like humans before it is too late.
