Global Crisis. The Responsibility | International Online Forum. December 2, 2023

Today, very serious changes are taking place with the climate, and we are not ready for that. We are not ready to admit as parents that our child has no future. We can influence simple things: a child's education, how he is dressed, what he eats, and we do this. However, at least so far, we can also influence whether he will have a future or not. And that's when all our responsibility as parents disappears. We cease to be fathers and mothers, and we become just indifferent people because we reject and do not want to admit that climatic changes already pose a real threat.

A good parent is the one who really cares about the future of their child. Not in the sense of who the child will grow up to be, but in the sense that he will have such an opportunity. If we were truly caring parents, we would not be afraid and would take on this responsibility. And we would do everything to save the life of our child.

How could it happen that we, society as a whole, have come to the point when every person individually seems to be very caring, good and positive, while in general, as a society, we are indifferent to others and turn away from this reality?

While reading the book AllatRa, we noticed that the etymology of words reveals their true meaning. What is etymology?
Etymology is the science that studies the root of words, their origin, and their real meaning.

Thorough analysis of the root of this word, shades of its meaning, and ways of its transformation really gives an understanding of the meaning which people put into, for instance, the word choice millennia ago.

Over the last two weeks there have been more than 190 earthquakes of 4.4 or higher magnitude.

— Volcano eruptions —
Indonesia. On January 10th, the Mount Sinabung volcano located on the island of Sumatra threw up a new column of ash. The Mount Egon volcano which has been sleeping since 2008 is waking up now on the Flores island. The danger level  in the region has been raised to level 3 out of 4.
— Snowfalls —
USA. On  January 10th, the south-east coast of Lake Erie, New York, was hit by a storm. A drastic decrease of temperature during the storm caused icing.  Cars were trapped under 10 cm of ice.
— Floods —
Portugal. Severe floods hit the central and north regions of the country.
— Other events —
Australia. A storm swept across the territory of Sidney. Wind reached 34 m/s. More than 40 thousand households were left without electricity. On the 13th of January, a sand storm passed through the state of New South Wales.
On January 13th, light pillars eliminated Murmansk (Russia), and on the 15th of January people could observe similar light pillars in the state of Iowa, USA.
