This is a living story of one girl who got through a terrible ordeal. And nevertheless, not only she could survive in these inhuman conditions, but she also didn't become embittered, and with dignity got through the mill of tyranny and aggression from close relatives, and found strength to change her destiny as well.

THE STORY OF MY SLAVERY

World statistics show that the number of domestic violence victims is comparable to losses in military conflicts. Every day, hundreds of thousands of people around the world are subjected to both physical and psychological  abuse in their own homes, at work, and in public places. And all those thousands of people are silent. Why is this happening?

- Why is there still slavery in society and families? 
- What is the true nature of a tyrant? 
- How to overcome fear and begin to act? 
- How not to be silent?
- How to get liberated from the slavery of one’s consciousness? 
- Promotion of violence and tyranny in mass media and computer games. Their consequences. 
- The role of the choice of a person who has become a hostage to a family despot and life circumstances: to surrender and become a tyrant oneself or to preserve humanity and Win.

Gabriela Szalayova, a participant of ALLATRA International Public Movement from Slovakia (Bratislava city), tells that each person creates the society we live in. If people live in harmony with each other, the world will change for the better. Marina Ovtsynova, a participant of ALLATRA International Public Movement from Atlanta (USA) within the framework of the project “NO TO VIOLENCE IN THE FAMILY AND SOCIETY” has shared her insights about how important it is to be an example of a real human being, to help each other, to unite with other honest and decent people.

And it’s our duty as a society to create the conditions for every woman on this planet to fulfill her destiny. We can unite and create an environment in which men will be men, they will be protectors, loving, caring husbands and fathers. And women will be women.

There will be peace and mutual understanding in the family if we revive common human values.
